Jazz on Morven

In November 2018 BaptistCare Morven Gardens celebrated its 20th anniversary, acknowledging two decades of care and service to the local Blue Mountain’s community of Leura.

Over 100 people gathered for a jazz-inspired celebration with special guests Federal Member for Macquarie, Susan Templeman MP and Trish Doyle MP, State Member for the Blue Mountains.

However the real VIPS on the day were the residents and frontline staff who have each contributed to the history, culture and community of the centre.
Guests were treated to nostalgic tales about the very beginnings of Morven Gardens by former Residential Manager, Carolyn Rynsbergen and long serving volunteers from the Fairholm Dementia unit, Gladys and Walter Rudolf.

The occasion was also marked with a ceremonial cake cutting by current Residential Manager, Kathryn Mussing ably assisted by former Residential Managers, Carol Rynsbergen and Donna Lennon.

With entertainment by the musically gifted jazz outfit the Baker Boys Band, residents and their families savoured the canapés and conversations, marking a significant milestone for BaptistCare Morven Gardens.
